Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our fireplace installation services

How long does a typical fireplace installation take?

The timeline for a fireplace installation varies based on the scope of the project, but most can be completed in one to three days. For a standard fireplace insert, where we are placing a new unit into an existing masonry hearth, the process is often completed in a single afternoon. This involves lining the chimney, securing the unit, and connecting the fuel source.

However, a full-build installation is more involved. This typically takes longer and includes framing the structure, running new gas or electrical lines, installing the venting system through a wall or roof, and completing the finish work. Before beginning, we provide a step-by-step project schedule so you know exactly when our crew will arrive and when you can expect to light your first fire. We prioritize a clean workspace and aim to minimize any disruption to your daily routine.

What types of fuel do you carry?

Our inventory includes wood, gas, pellet, and electric options for fireplaces, standalone stoves, and fireplace inserts. For those who love the traditional experience, our high-efficiency wood units offer the classic aroma and "crackling" sound that only real timber can provide. If you’re prioritizing heat and conveniences, gas units offer just that with the touch of a button.

Pellets offer an excellent eco-friendly middle ground option, using compressed sawdust "pills" fed through an automated hopper and providing the heat of a wood fire with much higher efficiency. And then there’s our electric systems, requiring only a standard outlet, and able to be installed just about anywhere - apartments, bedrooms, offices, etc.

What brands of fireplaces do you install?

Quality is our top priority, which is why we only partner with industry-leading manufacturers known for durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal. We are authorized installers for major brands including Blaze King, Quadra-Fire, Vermont Castings, Valor, Enviro, and more.

Our team undergoes regular training to stay updated on the latest mechanical specs and installation codes. This ensures that your manufacturer’s warranty remains fully valid. We invite you to browse our digital catalog or visit our showroom to see these units in action! We have extensive experience with gas, wood-burning, and electric models across all these premium lines.

Can you install a fireplace if I don't have an existing chimney?

Absolutely! One of the most common misconceptions about installing a new fireplace is that you need a traditional brick-and-mortar chimney to make it happen. Thanks to modern engineering, we can add a fireplace to almost any room in your home.

For gas units, we utilize direct-vent technology. This system uses a dual-chamber pipe that pulls fresh air from outside for combustion while venting exhaust back out through the same pipe. This can be routed directly through an exterior wall (horizontal venting) or up through the roof (vertical venting), requiring only a small hole. If you prefer a wood-burning experience, we can install a Class A prefabricated chimney system, which consists of insulated stainless steel pipes that are safe to run through framed walls and roofs.

Which fuel is best for me - wood, gas, electric, or pellet?

If you view fire as an "experience" and don't mind the work of chopping, stacking, and seasoning logs, wood is unbeatable. It provides good heat output and works during power outages. However, if you are looking for zone heating capabilities (the ability to warm a specific room quickly at the end of a workday), gas is the winner.

For those who are environmentally conscious and want a renewable heat source that is easier to manage than cordwood, pellets are ideal. Finally, if you live in a condo, have no chimney, or just want the ambiance of a fire without needing a massive amount of heat, electric is the way to go.

What’s the difference between a fireplace, stove, and fireplace insert?

  • A fireplace usually refers to a "built-in" unit. A zero-clearance fireplace is a metal box that is framed into a new wall during a renovation or new construction. It is designed to be surrounded by drywall, stone, or wood, giving it a seamless, integrated look.
  • A stove is typically a freestanding unit that sits on a hearth pad with all sides exposed to the air. These units are incredibly efficient heaters, radiating warmth in 360 degrees.
  • An insert is specifically designed to be retrofitted into an existing fireplace, helping you easily upgrade your fuel type or improve efficiency. It is essentially a high-tech metal box that turns your drafty fireplace into a sealed, efficient heat source.
